Are you a reader? I am! I really dislike not finishing a book, but sometimes you just need to put a book down and admit defeat! I will admit, I get swayed by what is popular and trendy when it comes to choosing books. I would say my taste is fairly eclectic when it comes to the books I choose to read.
I find most people stick to a favorite genre, such as romance, fantasy or mystery, or a subgenre of the same. Not me! I love cozy mystery, romance, historical romance, historical fantasy mystery, romantasy or a really great psychological thriller.
It takes a lot for me to decide to put a book down and decide to not finish it, especially if it is a really popular book that everyone else seems to love. My most recent did not finish (DNF) is Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. I loved Fourth Wing, but for whatever reason I could not get into Iron Flame, I found it tedious and slow going and I had other books on my to be read (TBR) calling to me.
What would cause you to DNF a book? Or would you struggle to finish it? There haven’t been many books that I have put down. Sometimes I try the audio book and that helps but not in this case.
